Title

“Contemporary Approaches to Restoration of Endodontically Treated Teeth.”

Course Description

The main goal of this lecture is to present the current scientific evidence, illustrated by clinical cases, on how to adequately restore teeth that are structurally compromised by the loss of tooth structure caused by restorative and endodontic procedures.

Objectives

Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
• Recognize the critical factors for an adequate restorative treatment plan of endodontically treated teeth based on biomechanical evidence.
• Identify the current clinical protocols to restore endodontically treated teeth according to the post and core material type.
• Learn the pros & cons of different types of posts, core buildup materials, resin cements, and adhesive systems applied to restore endodontically treated teeth.
• Understand the current perspective on controversial topics, such as the need for post and cusp coverage based on the mechanical properties of endodontically treated teeth and the inherent amount of residual tooth structure.
